Navigating Asana

New to Asana? Let's take a quick tour.

From the top bar, click on your avatar to switch workspaces or access your settings. You can search within Asana.

Create new items. Or open and close the sidebar. Start each day on your Home page to get an overview of your priorities in Asana. Add custom colors and widgets to make it your own.

My Tasks is your new to-do list, but better. Here, you'll see all the tasks and subtasks in your workspace that are assigned to you. Instead of writing new to-dos on sticky notes or paper, add them directly to your My Tasks.

Sort your tasks by due date. Add sections and click on any task to open the task details and communicate with your teammates right from your to-do list. What do checking your Asana inbox and brushing your teeth have in common? You should do them both at least twice a day.

But we hope you like this a little better than dental hygiene. Your inbox is where you'll see comments and likes on tasks you're collaborating on. You'll also be notified if you're added to a project or someone sends you a message. Unlike email, it's solely focused on work that applies to you.

Take action on each notification. Archive messages that are just an FYI. Respond to conversations or create a follow-up task. Below the inbox, you'll find projects, teams, and insights on your work.

Click the star icon to favorite your top projects for easy access. You can also find other projects you're collaborating on below. You can also browse teams in your organization and access work insights with reports, portfolios, and goals.

Now that you know your way around, invite a friend to join you and start working smarter, not harder, in Asana.

Keep learning.
